Joseph Cohen provides technical and scientific advisory support on legal and regulatory matters involving human factors, ergonomics, and safety. Dr. Cohen has consulted to Fortune 500 companies and managed projects across a variety of industries and settings including construction, energy generation, food service, consumer products, industrial products, warehousing, hospitality, and retail sales.
Dr. Cohen is a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. His professional service includes Vice President of the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics and the Finance and Budget Committee of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. His research and writings on pedestrian falls, hazard communication, and forensics have been published in books, journals, and trade publications. Dr. Cohen holds four degrees, including a B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Riverside, M.A. degree in human factors psychology from California State, Northridge and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial/organizational psychology from Alliant International University, San Diego where he received the award "Outstanding Doctor of Philosophy".
